Every website is a coin.
Anyone can launch a coin for any website. When people trade it, the trading fees pile up for the person who owns that website, and are paid to their bank account, Cash App, PayPal or IBAN. The owner never needs a wallet.
- Someone pastes a website and launches a coin for it on pump.fun. One website, one coin, forever.
- People trade the coin. Every trade pays a small creator fee.
- Web2 collects those fees. 90% is set aside for the owner of the website, 10% goes to the platform.
- The owner proves the site is theirs with one DNS record, a meta tag or a small file.
- The owner says where the money should go and is paid in dollars or euros. No wallet, no exchange, nothing to learn.
Until the owner shows up, the money waits. It does not expire and it is never handed to anyone else. The person who launched the coin earns nothing from the fees.
Paste a website, pick a ticker, sign with a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare or Backpack). That is all. Launching is free: you pay pump.fun's creation cost and the network fee, plus your first buy if you want one.
- A website is its domain.
wikipedia.org,en.wikipedia.organdwikipedia.org/wiki/Catare all the coin ofwikipedia.org. - Hosted sites count on their own.
alice.github.ioandalice.substack.comeach get their own coin, and alice is the one who can claim it. - Websites only. Not a social account, not a single page.
- One coin per website. If the coin already exists, the launch box takes you to it.
The coin's icon is the site's own favicon, blown up into big pixels. Its page lives at web2.fun/<domain>, with a small 88×31 badge the owner (or a fan) can put on the site.
Every pump.fun coin pays a creator fee on each trade. For a Web2 coin that fee goes to a key that exists only for that coin, so the fees of two websites can never mix. About every 10 minutes Web2 collects what has built up and writes it down like this:
| Share | Goes to | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
| 90% | The website's owner | Held until the owner claims the site, then paid out in dollars or euros. |
| 5% | $WEB2 buyback | Once a day it buys $WEB2 and burns it. Every burn is listed on Burns. |
| 5% | Platform reserves | Keeps the site running. |
All of it is public. Stats shows what the fee wallet holds next to what it owes, and a green line when the two match.
Is there a coin for your site? The fees are yours. Go to Claim, type your site, and sign in with your email: we send a link, there is no password. You get a token, and you prove the site is yours in one of three ways. Pick whichever is easiest.
Then press Check now. DNS can take a few minutes to spread, so we also look again every 5 minutes for 30 days. Once it is found you see “Ownership verified.” and the balance is yours.
A site hosted on someone else's domain, like alice.github.io, cannot add DNS records. Use the meta tag or the file.
In your dashboard, open Get paid and choose where the money goes. The first time, our payout partner asks you to confirm who you are on their own page; it takes a few minutes and you only do it once.
| Destination | Paid in | What you enter |
|---|---|---|
| Bank account (US) | USD | Name, routing number, account number, checking or savings. |
| Cash App | USD | Cash App → Money tab → Direct Deposit → copy routing and account number. |
| PayPal | USD | PayPal → Wallet → PayPal Balance → Direct Deposit → copy routing and account number. |
| IBAN (Europe) | EUR | Name, IBAN and BIC. |
- It is automatic. Every hour we look at your balance. Once it reaches $25 the whole balance is sent. Never a part of it.
- You receive ordinary money. It arrives as a normal deposit. You never hold crypto and you never need a wallet.
- We keep the last four digits. Your account numbers go straight to the payout partner. We store only the last four so you can recognise the account.
- If a payout fails, the full amount goes back to your balance and is sent again.
- Do I need a wallet to get paid?
- No. Only the person who launches a coin needs one. Owners need an email address and a bank account, Cash App, PayPal or IBAN.
- Someone launched a coin for my site without asking. Now what?
- Nothing, unless you want the money. The fees keep adding up under your site's name. Claim it whenever you like.
- What if I never claim?
- The balance stays where it is. It does not expire and nobody else can take it.
- Can a website have two coins?
- No. The first launch is the only one. Trying again just opens the existing coin.
- What does the launcher earn?
- Nothing from the fees. They can buy the coin like anyone else.
- What does launching cost?
- Web2 charges nothing. You pay what pump.fun and the Solana network charge, and your own first buy if you make one.
- How do I know the money is really there?
- Open Stats. It shows the fee wallet, what is owed to owners, and whether the two add up. The wallet is a public address you can check yourself.
- Can someone else claim my site?
- Only someone who can change your DNS, your home page or the files on your server. Once a site is claimed, nobody else can claim it unless you release it from your dashboard.
- How long does a payout take?
- We send it within the hour once you are over $25. After that it travels like any bank transfer, usually a few business days.
- What is $WEB2?
- The platform's own coin. Half of the platform's share of the fees buys it and burns it, every day. See Burns.
- How will I hear about it?
- If we can find a contact address on your site, we email you once there is $20 waiting. The subject starts with “You got mail”.
